I have two big pieces of news today. The first is that I have finally put together an Etsy Shop to attempt to sell some of the things I make. I don't know if anyone will find me, or want anything even if they do, but it was a big step outside of my comfort zone, and I am proud of myself for scraping up the confidence to finally Just Do It. I even managed to add the link to the sidebar of my blog. Who says you can't teach an Old Dog HTML?!
My second piece of news is that I have finally finished my beaded collar.
See, I can finish a Really Big Project when I want to... even if it does take several years, LOL! I put the last bead on my collar this afternoon, and I am so happy with how it all came together. I've been wearing it for over an hour now, and am very pleased with how comfortable it is, even for all its weight. It is very nicely balanced, and the leather backing hugs my neck in a very pleasant way.
Because of the requests for photos of me actually wearing it, I had my daughter snap this photo of me this afternoon when she came home from school to show you how it looks on the body. See how it just snuggles into the curve of my throat?
Tonight I am taking a class in wire wrapping. I hope to have something new to show very soon.

Mom,
Exquisite! What a piece of art! I would expect to see it on a maniquin at a museum, and you know that I mean that as a complement. It seems too elegant for this plain day and age.
Absolutely magnificent! It is just dazzling. I wish I had better words for this but I'm not Kai. This would be an award winning piece of art - I bet a piece like this would be featured in a beading magazine (if you could bear to part with it for photos!).
I honestly did not believe this could BE any more spectacular than it was in the previous photos. But Judi, the final beading additions were exactly RIGHT. They enhanced - and as you said, BALANCED - the piece perfectly. You look beautiful wearing it, and it would be an absolute showstopper at any event! I repeat myself here (good at that, aren't I?) but the repetition is CALLED FOR: You are a true artist. Judi W. is wrong this time - I don't have the proper words to do justice to this collar. I just know I LOVE it!
I don't have the words either but I agree with what the other girls said. Good luck on your etsy, I opened one too about a week agao and still haven't put anything in it.
Stunning! You must feel so good about it!
This is beautiful. A lot of hard work has gone into it but well worth it. It suits you so well. Great job Judy.
Judi it is breath-taking! It truly is a masterpiece.
OMG! Judi, this is just unbelievably beautiful! It truly is a work of fine art! Everything about it is amazing- the design, colors, and workmanship- just gorgeous. As I have said before and must say again- you are such a talented artist!
Good luck with your Etsy shop. I know what you mean about being hesitant to offer things for sale as i struggle with those self doubts myself. But trust me, your work is truly professional and anyone would be lucky to buy anything created by you.
