Learning Experiences

What do you know... I did another little watercolor sketch this week and I don't hate this one! It still turned out a little muddy and too heavy-handed, but definitely an improvement over earlier efforts. I *am* a better painter today, and maybe tomorrow I will be better yet.

Because I needed to reassure myself that I could still paint something reasonably decent, I picked up this little 4"x4" canvas I did last fall in Jean Bernard's  online painting techniques class.  The blues looked like water to me, so I did this fancy little gold fish and added some silk seaweed for a little texture.  I think the little seahorse charm is the perfect finishing touch.  Just a little something simple to soothe a bruised ego, LOL.

Remember this shell project? It makes a nice in-hand project for watching TV with the family at night. Only one more face to go, and now that I have the eyes to finish it, it shouldn't be too long now before I can start embellishing.

I can't wait for the weekend.  It is just too hard to go to work when I feel like being creative.

lovely paintings, both of them :) I am amazed at the size of those faces, such a lot of hard work

Love it all, but especially the hummingbird - all my favorite colors!

Since I'm all about faces in my work, I love the shell with faces. What are they made of.
