Facing Reality

I didn't have much time to play this weekend, but I used what I had to assemble the pieces and apply the "roots" to my Tree Spirit doll. She is turning out so well that I am almost afraid to proceed with the embellishments. Oh, and how often hasn't THAT happened before??

As I ran head-on into that thought, I recognized that this has been my stumbling block for much to long. I am determined to have more faith in my own abilities and not let fear keep me from achieving my goals anymore.

It is time to face the music, time to assemble in one place all my unfinished dolls and decide what to do next. I've been very faithful in following through on my resolution to work my way through the pile, but I really needed to face the music and see EXACTLY how many more I have to tackle...

... and as you can see, it is still a big undertaking. Sigh...

But now I KNOW.

One at a time Judi, just take them on one at a time.

Judi, your tree spirit is beautiful. She looks like a lot of work went into the making of her.
But I don't want to talk about UFOs. Mine are UFOs for a reason and I simply don't want to finish them! LOL!! I admire you for doing yours, though.

The tree spirit is absolutely breathtaking - worth all the pain of turning five million little 'fingers'! You NEED to finish her!

Yep, that's one pile of UFO's - I recognize a few of the designs. Some of them won't take long to finish though. You will grow artistically with each piece you finish and just think of the satisfaction when you are done! You felt that with the Pearl Moon piece. Go for it!!! Don't hold back anymore - your artistic eye is excellent and you'll be fine!

The tree spirit doll is beautiful. Worth the effort, can't wait to see her finished. Wow you do have a lot of UFO's. I can't say I have many a few which are nearly complete but since I am lazy well lazy is not the word I guess my mind keeps jumping ahead so if a project takes too long to finish I am on to another one that is more exciting. Thank goodness it doesn't happen too often or I would have millions of unfinished projects.
The ones on your table should not take long to finish(look who is talking lol!. You have so much of talent and so many techniques to try out just go for it.

There's something so special & magical about your dolls, Judi. First the Pearl Moon doll, now this Tree Spirit. Both grabbed me by the heart and screamed, 'FEEL ME!" And I DID. I DO! But as soon as I get past the initial 'WOW!' jolt, I feel a real sense of calm, and can look at these dolls for hours. As for your UFOs - you will finish the ones meant to be finished. You'll KNOW which ones they are. I think you are positively amazing!

Oh, Judi, the Tree Spirit is stunning! I love her peaceful, placid face, and the batik fabric you used for the trunk. As to the UFOs, I'm particularly intrigued by the blue one on the right, that looks like a water sprite? I love the graceful shape.

UFOs are an issue. I often get dolls to a certain point and get stuck. I used to think I couldn't start another until I finished the first, but I've found that if the muse moves on to the next thought, I can't force things. Thus, my Oracle doll has been shoe-less for nearly four years. I know that I don't do good work in a forced march, so... I will continue to create UFOs, without a doubt. I admire your determination!
