As much as I love sharing my work, I still dread the "I can find it cheaper at Wal-Mart" comments that I KNOW will be forthcoming. I KNOW in my head that not everyone will like everything I do, but I don't have to like knowing that! I especially don't like it when they tell me so to my face...
OK, I'm taking a breath and getting over it!
TA DA! This is my little corner of the world where I will be spending the next 3 days. Most of it is my jewelry, but I dyed some silk and silk velvet scarves too -- they look SO pretty all lined up on that old drying rack. I also threw in my canvasses from my online class, just to see if there is a market here for my very different art. No fruit still lifes here!
If they DO sell, I can afford to buy some more canvasses and make some more, LOL!
I finished 2 more canvasses. I'm not that crazy about the dancer one, but I really really like the Angels canvas. I think it's my favorite. I seriously think they are too weird to sell, but we shall see. I am often wrong. I hope this is one of those times!
Now that I know the basic process, I look forward to refining the technique and making it my own. I like the way the whole process flows, with each step taking its cue from what has gone before. It is an intuitive way of working that I find very comfortable and energizing.

Your sale table looks great! I love both of the canvases. I hope you sell out- good luck.

Judi you don't have to worry. They are all beautiful. Ofcourse church fairs sometimes are not the ideal place to sell these things but you will be educating people in a way. Exposing them to something different and maybe when they see something similar they might like it next time. It often happens to me sometimes I don't bother too much with certain things and when I see it next time in another place and time I actually like it So take heart you have some wonderful things there.
I suspect you will do VERY well! Your art is wonderful! I think your jewelry is just spectacular, and I'd be VERY surprised if people didn't fight to buy it! As for the canvas art, you've really mastered that! I hope mine turns out PRESENTABLE. Yours are all wonderful! My favorite is the one with the quote from Hebrews because I so strongly believe we have to invite every person into our world, our hearts, our lives. We never DO know who we're losing an opportunity to know if we don't. I'll be mentally cheering you on as you man your 'booth', my talented friend! Let me know how it turns out!
Best of luck with the bazaar! It will be interesting to see if the canvases sell as they are different from most 'mainstream' art. We all love them though! I couldn't see the magnets, wah!
Mom, it all looks fantasic. And I really like the angel canvas too. Keep your chin up about those comments. Your product is worth so much more than a discount store reproduction.
